Oduduwa University was licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria to operate as a private University on 3rd November 2009 (certificate number: 38). The University was named after the progenitor of the Yoruba race (Oduduwa).
The University is located at Ipetumodu, a town in Osun State, six kilometers (6km) away from Ile-Ife. it is on a parcel of land of about one hundred (100) hectares and is already fairly developed with some infrastructure that will adequately serve for the institutions permanent site. there is enough room and opportunity for expansion if more land is required in the nearest future.
The University has many surrounding towns serving as feeders and support in all is day-to-day activities i.e economically, socially, politically, technologically, etc.
The surrounding towns include: Ipetumodu, Ashipa, Akinlalu, Moror, Edunabon, Yakoyo, Gbongan and Ile-Ife.
