The Journey
With thirteen students and four members of staff, the gates of Ota Total Academy were thrown wide open for the commencement of school activities. The founder, Chief A. A. Babasanya (the former Principal, Iganmode Grammar school) had
envisioned a school which will uphold the principles of high academic and moral standard which Iganmode, a public school which he administered typified. And on Monday, 17th of September, 2001, the dream was born when the then Principal Mrs. S.O.A. Ayeni stood to address the inaugural assembly of O.T.A students.
Driven by the sheer will and experience of its founder, the school marched through the conventional challenges posed by the
educational system to establish itself as a school of first choice for primary school leavers. In doing so, the school has stuck religiously to its slogan “strictly for the serious-minded” – a reflection of its belief in regulating admission and academic policies to preferentially suit students who can cope with the rigours of the school.
