The Statesman Schools was born in September, 2004. It was born out of the missionary passion to shed light into the darkness of our world. The name “Statesman” was chosen because the word encapsulates the idea of the school. A statesman is a person who through divine and personal efforts has been able to help, enlighten, emancipate, enrich and develop his people and the society at large for the benefit of humanity and for the glory of God.
In our world, Statesmen include Bishop Samuel A. Crowther (for bringing Christianity and civilization into Africa), William Wilberforce (for stopping African slave trade), Mahatma Ghandi (for bringing freedom to Indians), Mary Slessor (for stopping the killing of twins), Serena Williams (for great exploits in sports), Aliko Dangote (for special business acumen), Bill Gates (for innovations in computer), Steve Bantu and Nelson Mandela (for saving the Blacks of South Africa), Mother Theresa of Calcutta (for serving the poor, the needy and the weak), Gani Fahwehmini of Nigeria (for fighting for human rights), Martin Luther King Jnr (for fighting for the right of Black Americans) and others. Certainly Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the hidden inspirer and the first of this College of Statesman.
