About Green Park Academy
About Green park academy, is an institution geared towards qualitative education that is affordable to be delivered by highly motivated staff in order to meet the expectations of all stakeholders. The school was established and commenced activities in September 2007.
The school officially opened for academic work on the 17th of September, 2007, with 14 academic staff (6 males and 6 females) and two (2) non-academic staff.
The school proprietor Dr. G. Ehigiamusoe, his wife Mrs. Lizzy and some religious ministers organized a sermon for the inauguration. The school had its first graduation ceremony on the 24th July, 2008 with only KG 3 Pupils made up of 24 graduands the Day care arm of the school opened on the 5th of May 2008.
The school got its government approval to operate as a private Education institution (Nursery, Primary and Secondary) on the 6th May 2008 after an application to the commissioner of Education. Ministry of Education on the 27th of June 2006.
The certificate of Registration was equally issued on the 10th of July, 2008.
The classes at inception are KG1 – KG3, Primary 1 – 4, J.S.S 1 – 2 and S.S. 1 with a total of 40 pupil/students (25 pupils and 15 students) on the first day of resumption. At the end of the academic session the population of the school rose to 390 Nursery/Primary and Secondary.
At the resumption of first term 2008/2009 Academic session there was a tremendous inflow of pupils/students where we had an increase of over 126%. 453 Nursery/Primary, 331 J.S.S and 98 S.S. Totaling 882. This session was a remarkable session in the history of Green Park Academy in the sense that the increase necessitated the completion of the 3 storey building of this great institution which originally meant to be completed in five years’ time, but got to the roofing level by the second session of the school.
It is also worth to note that the school was accredited to write WAEC and NECO Examinations before the end of the second session.
The first WAEC and NECO Examinations was written in 2010 with Eleven (11) students. These students made their papers in just one sitting
Green Park Academy was recognized as a school with high academic standard as this was confirmed by the WAEC/NECO staff and supervisors sent to the school during the external examinations.
