Emplace College History
Established in 2012, Emplace College an offshoot of Mummy’s Place Schools (primary school) was birthed out of a calling, just like the parent-school. The primary school which had already started graduating students off to secondary school, set a unique standard of excellence, such that year after year, parents of former students always came around to try to persuade the proprietor to start a secondary school. It was different on the other side. This was humbling for Dr. Damilola Oshin (the founder & proprietor), as it was a testament to the fact that we were doing something right. However, the answer to everyone that came around with this same plea, was the same. “It is not yet time” as she shied away from the topic for years.
The year was 2012, and the vision of Emplace College was birthed. It started as it were, a school with a clear and concise vision. It opened up to students in September of that year and immediately started admitting old students of Mummy’s Place (the primary) who had been waiting on the school to start off. From really humble beginnings, the school started off with only a few students in her first year, as the proprietor was in no particular rush to gather students. The goal was to get it right. She set out to start off a school that wasn’t going to compete with the rest but set a whole new standard of all-round education in Akure, Ondo State, and the country at large. The blueprint was to educate the young minds that pass through our gates, such that when they leave, they go on to effect societal change. We have over the past few years constantly reminded ourselves of the reason(s) why we do what we do and where we are coming from, as “if we do not know where we are coming from, how then do we know where we are going”
Over the years, Emplace College has gained a reputation for academic excellence, raising young boys and girls of fine character, with integrity without reproach, impeccable moral standards, and a strong dedication to selfless service. Qualities we believe will serve them well, as we prepare them to ignite their world.
A number of bright and ambitious students have passed through our doors, leaving a bit of themselves behind when they head off to institutions of higher learning. We are so proud of the institution they have helped to build over the years, with their brilliant academic performances and the legacies they leave behind.
